It is very important that children attend school every day and for the whole school day.  A child who misses school starts to fall behind. She then loses heart and begins to think she is no good at school.  Any absences or early leaving must be reported in writing.  Figures are compiled on a weekly basis.

We are hoping to have a great Christmas Raffle with a smashing Voucher and many other prizes this year.  Each child has been asked to give €2 to help fund it.  This should be returned to the class teacher a.s.a.p.. We have sent each family 2 books of raffle tickets to buy/sell. All tickets sold or unsold should be returned to the school by Thursday 20th December raffle will take place on Friday the 21st December.

This year we will hold a Christmas Carol service/ Nativity in the Church.  As space is limited the classes will perform at separate times and tickets will be issued for families. There is no charge but you must have a ticket.  No babies or buggies please!  Please indicate how many tickets you want 4 is the maximum.

Children are learning about healthy eating in school and are making a big effort with their lunches. Dairy: 1 item- cheese, yoghurt, milk.

Protein: 1 portion Meat, Fish or alternative.

Carbohydrate: 1 serving- bread, potato, cereals (no added sugar) Drink: Water or Milk.  Please do not bring nuts to school as we have children who are severely allergic to them.

We wish a warm welcome to all our students and especially to our new Junior Infants. They have settled in remarkably well. Everyone has made a big effort with very smart school uniforms and the children look really well. The children wear their school uniforms everyday of the week except as follows: Junior, Senior Infants, 1st and 2nd Classes wear tracksuits to school on their P.E day.  The girls in 3rd,4th,5th and 6th classes wear their tracksuit and runners to school on Wednesday for football.

Head lice are never far away. We are requesting all parents to check their child’s hair on this Friday and on every subsequent Friday. Any outbreak should be immediately reported to the class teacher.

If any of the information relating to your daughter has changed since the summer holidays ie. home address, contact numbers etc. it is extremely important you provide the school with updated changes at all times.

They were admired by all- so beautiful and so grown up looking.

Swimming started on 26th April for 8 weeks.  Children should wear their tracksuits.  Parents are requested to come to the pool to help their own children change.
