Happy New Year

To all Our Parents,

Pupils and Supporters!

In December the school concerts took place.  The Junior play was “Scarecrow’s Christmas” and the senior play was “Alice in Wonderland”! The junior and middle/senior end of the school performed at different times which meant room for everybody in the hall.  There was a great turnout.  Thanks to everybody who helped out.

The third set of 8 swimming lessons will start on Thursday 10th February.  The cost is €60.  It is open to girls in 1st 2nd 5th and 6th classes.  Priority will be given to those children who have not had swimming previously.  Any unpaid swimming money for the last term please pay ASAP.

School Absences
It is very important that children attend school every day and for the whole school day.  A child who misses school starts to fall behind. She then loses heart and begins to think she is no good at school.  Any absences or early leaving must be reported in writing.  Figures are compiled on a weekly basis.

Fifth and Sixth class and First and Second class have completed an eight week term of swimming classes at the Coral Leisure Centre.  Now Senior Infants and 3rd and 4th class have an opportunity to develop their swimming skills over an 8 week term starting Friday 12th November.

Green Flag
Our green school committee are very busy at the moment trying to save water in our school.  We had a visit last Friday from Ali Sheridan from An Taisce who was very impressed with all the work we are doing.   We hope to have our new flag by June.
