Violin is an instrument that has become hugely popular in our school!

We have a great violin teacher called Rebecca who comes to our school every Wednesday to give violin lessons to all the girls from Junior Infants to 6th class. They are getting really good at playing the violin. Every year now some of our girls practise really really hard and try and get a RIAM (Royal Irish Academy of Music) Cara Award. They always do very well and we are very proud of them.

We have a violin purchase scheme in our school and thanks to this lots of children now have their own violin. This allows them to do extra practise at home.

At the end of the year we have a big violin recital and each class gets to show the rest of the school and their families what they learned during the year in their violin classes with Rebecca.
